Stereophile MagazineJazz vocalist Gabrielle Cavassa makes her Birdland debut! After appearing on the 11th season of American Idol, Cavassa moved to New Orleans and rose to prominence in bands led by drummer Adonis Rose (The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra), trumpeter Irvin Mayfield, and drummer Jamison Ross. Cavassa won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2021 and recorded two albums and toured with saxophonist Joshua Redmans band before being signed to Blue Note Records in 2024 where she is set to release her first major label recording.
