Good Habits – Genre-bending indie-folk, forged on the other side of the globe.
Good Habits are a high-energy indie-folk band known for turning existential musings into bursts of joyful, cinematic chaos. With vocals, cello, accordion, synths and drums, they blend folk-ish storytelling with groove-driven rhythms and a mischievous, big-hearted stage presence.
Formed by singer-cellist Bonnie Schwarz and accordionist/synth Pete Shaw, the band began after the pair were stranded in New Zealand during the pandemic. Touring the country as musical nomads shaped their identity: connection, curiosity, and music as adventure.
In 2025 they levelled up, and drummer Jen Walinetski (Miles Kane), adds a fierce rhythmic engine that supercharged their explosive live show.
Their UK Top 40 Folk-charting album Quarter-Life earned acclaim from BBC Radio 2, 6 Music and 5 Live, alongside festival slots at Glastonbury, WOMAD, Cambridge, Green Man and more. With a new trio album ‘Better for Now’ on the way, Good Habits bring a vibrant, playful and deeply human collision of stories, harmony and sheer musical joy.
