ILA is excited to announce our 2025 series of hands-on workshops with a focus on creative tech, shared learning and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Georgia Oatley, a Kaurna Yerta-based musician, artist, and creative facilitator, will lead a series of four weekly sessions on music production using Ableton Live. Renowned for her experimental and playful approach to sound design, Georgia will offer insights into her journey as both a producer and performer. Throughout the sessions, she'll guide participants through essential techniques for sound design and production, sharing tips and methods to enhance their music-making skills.

Each session will provide a platform for participants to ask questions, test, collaborate and share ideas.

Who is Georgia Oatley?
Georgia Oatley practises as a musician, broadcaster and educator and is passionate about empowerment through access and education. She graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Music in Sonic Arts and is active in the local arts communiy through work with Three D Radio, Girls Rock!, Soundstream New Music and Tutti Arts. She is an award winning broadcaster having won two South Australian Community Broadcasting Awards, The Best Youth Contribution of 2023 and The Best Radio Program 2024 for her work as a producer on The RaT, a disability arts and culture program.    

Georgia Oatley crafts tender electronic music, weaving ambient textures, trip-hop grooves, and evocative vocals. Inspired by the organic beauty of the land, her sound is immersive, sensual, and deeply emotional—a rich sensory experience that invites listeners to connect and let go.    

Some recent performances include Womadelaide 2025, New Found Sound 2025 & Lost City 2024 performing with Gabriella Smart. ‘100,000 Subtle Kinds of Music’, a collaboration with Stephen Whittington and musicians from the Chinese School of Music for Chinese Music Day at OzAsia festival 2023

What is Lab Rats?
Lab Rats is ILA’s public program focused on creative tech, shared learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration as a series of workshops, artist presentations, networking sessions, and discussion panels.
With an emphasis on developing creative communities, Lab Rats fosters a network of emerging and established artists, providing opportunities for participants to upskill, reskill and learn new skills, build portfolios and make connections that expand creative and career prospects within the creative industry.
