Karen Mack is a multi-award-winning jazz vocalist based in New York City, with creative roots in jazz, folk, and swing. Her style blends a warm storytellers sensibility with a love of vocal harmony, wordplay, and improvisation, creating performances that are fun, unique, and richly musical from fierce swing to tender ballads to soulful blues. She will be accompanied by Andy Ezrin on piano, Pete McCann on guitar, Matt Aronoff on bass, Mark McLean on drums/percussion, with special guest Elliot Roth. She returns to Birdland with a joyful new set that blends contemporary jazz classics and reinvented standards with finds from leading female songwriters on the New York jazz scene, including Grammy-winner Nicole Zuraitis. Whether shes leaning into a lyric or letting her exceptional band stretch out, the through-line is connection, humor, and spontaneity. Expect great music and a great time! A longtime favorite with audiences and critics alike, Karen has performed coast to coast, including appearances at Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center. The release of her newest album, Catch and Keep, produced by Peter Eldridge of the Grammy-winning New York Voices, was celebrated on the Birdland stage in 2024.The effervescence that marks Karens music is infectious... vivacious, emotional and filled with sculpted invention by one of the most silken-voiced women in music today. - HotHouseJazz.com
