This holiday season, join Clara on a magical journey as she battles the Rat Queen, visits the Land of Snow, and meets the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Kingdom of Sweets. Children and adults of all ages will be swept away by the fantastic tale that reminds us of the magic of the Christmas season. Featuring 260 community dancers and actors, guest principal artists, Yenessis Marzan Hernandez (Mauro Ballet) and Luis Victor Santana (Mauro Ballet, Puerto Rico) the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, and local professional collaborating artists including Journy Wilkes Davis as the Nutcracker Prince. A portion of the proceeds will benefit MCPA?s outreach dance classes at the Birmingham Boys and Girls Club. This original version of the ballet is brought to you by Artistic Director Stephanie Rangel and the MCPA artistic staff. This production features original choreography of the Waltz of the Snowflakes by Roger VanFleteren (American Ballet Theatre, London City Ballet, Alabama Ballet).

The Floor level (1st level) is accessible and does not require any stairs for access. Wheelchair spaces are marked on the Floor level. Seating in the Loge, Opera Boxes, and Balcony requires stairs for access. There is not an elevator in the Lyric Theatre. By purchasing seats in these sections you agree that you will take stairs to that area. The Lyric Theatre cannot guarantee that you can be seated in another section if you are unable to use stairs.

Tickets sold as General Admission do not have assigned seats and are first come, first served. Your ticket may say General Admission, GENADM, or GA to signify General Admission. A number on a General Admission Ticket is not a seat number. Wheelchair accessible seating is not assigned for General Admission vents and is first come, first served. No weapons of any kind are allowed in the Lyric Theatre. All guests will be scanned with a metal detector wand and bags will be checked before entry to the building. No outside food or drink is allowed.

Children ages 2 and under do not need a ticket for most shows. This policy may vary for events designed for children. Please check the event listing for more specific information.
