Composed between 1888 and 1894, Mahler's Second Symphony stands as one of the most profound works in the orchestral repertoire. Beginning with a funeral march and culminating in an awe-inspiring choral finale celebrating resurrection and spiritual rebirth, this 90-minute journey traverses the full range of human emotion - from despair and questioning to transcendent hope. The performance features a full orchestra alongside a masterful chorus and world-class soloists who will bring to life Mahler's intricate composition. The symphony's famous finale, with its text drawn from Friedrich Klopstock's "Resurrection Ode," promises to be a memorable moment as the combined forces of instruments and voices build to one of classical music's most powerful climaxes.

In advance of shows, tickets can be picked up during daytime hours at any TO Live box office (Meridian Arts Centre, Meridian Hall, St. Lawrence Center for the Arts). On show days, tickets will be available for pickup from 2 hours prior to the scheduled curtain time. Please arrive early to avoid congestion and delays, and be prepared to present the actual credit card used for purchase and photo ID.

If a child has not yet celebrated their first birthday, a "babes-in-arms" ticket may be obtained, free of charge, at the box office as of 2 hours prior to the scheduled curtain time. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult , and if children are being noisy and disrupting the performance the child and guardian may be asked to step out into the lobby.
