MARK HARRISON is widely considered one of the most original and interesting blues artists around. His alternative, all-original music has taken him to some iconic venues and festivals in the UK, attracting acclaim wherever he goes. In 2019 he appeared live on BBC Radio 2 as a guest on The Cerys Matthews Blues show. Cerys described Mark on-air as ‘A bit different and kinda groovy too’.
He has released six albums to date which have been acclaimed across a range of genres, receiving airplay and excellent reviews in the UK, Europe and the US. In 2024 Mark released his 8th album, Fools and Clowns. The album covers a diverse range of topics including the modern workplace, episodes in the lives of original blues artists, comparisons between the great inventions of the past like sewage systems and modern-day inventions like social media. Musically, the album has a timeless vibe that would sit well next to some of the classic albums of the 60’s/70’s such as those released by The Band and Little Feat.
A thrilling finger-picker and slide guitar player with his own distinctive style, his catchy rhythms combine with lyrics that intrigue and engage. He takes elements of roots music, including folk, blues and gospel, to create something that is very much his own genre. A master storyteller, each song unfolds like a 3-minute film or novel. Mark’s live shows are known not only for the music content but also for his engaging between-song chat.
