MATTED ft Support TBA at BLONDIES

Matted are one of the UK’s most exciting new rock bands, fusing heavy riffs, big hooks and left-field textures. The five-piece has built momentum with slots at Download, Call of the Wild and Planet Rockstock, plus supports for Crashface, Armored Saint and Von Hertzen Brothers, alongside headline shows in London and Brighton. Finalists in Kerrang! Radio’s The Deal, they pair grit with ambition.
Guitarist Jake Slack and bassist Jacob Swann first met as kids in School of Rock: The Musical and later formed Chapter 13, earning a golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent and playing the O2 Arena before they were 16. With renewed ambition and energy, they set out to build something powerful and authentic with Matted.
Their vision clicked with vocalist Max Walker, whose striking range and genre-blending instincts further shaped the band’s sound. He brought in long-time friend and guitarist Oscar Paulley, and drummer Tom Walker, an industrial-tinged powerhouse, locked in the lineup.
Drawing on eclectic rock influences including AC/DC, Alice in Chains, Nine Inch Nails, Mr Bungle and Beastie Boys, they deliver songs that are raw, melodic and unmistakably their own. With a handful of singles already gaining traction, Matted are fast establishing a signature that feels immediate and adventurous—hungry, heavy and ready; a band on the rise and one to watch.
