Local music scene veterans have joined forces to form Prairie Drone Companion, announcing their self-titled debut album. While the band is new, its foundation is built on three decades of deep musical roots in the region. The lineup features John Niedzielski (currently of Domestic Problems), Nate Mehren and Terry Wolter (formerly of Wonderbelly and Buckwheat Penny), and Tadd Kimble (original drummer of Domestic Problems).Structured as eight loosely connected chapters, the album tells a story set in a not-too-distant future. It explores timeless themes of connection, love, loss, conflict, and the complex relationship between humanity and technology. In an era where fully produced songs can be generated by AI in seconds, Prairie Drone Companion embraced an unpolished approach in the studio, ensuring that the raw, human element of musical creation remains the beating heart of the record.
