QUOFEST PRE PARTY – FRIDAY MAY 22ND
For the past 16 years, against all common sense, public demand and probably medical advice, Colm O'Hara has somehow managed to keep QuoFest alive and kicking in Kavanagh’s.
What started as a few hardcore Status Quo fans gathering for “one or two pints” has grown into a yearly pilgrimage involving dedicated Quo heads travelling from all over Ireland — plus a brave contingent from Manchester and Liverpool — all united by denim, riffs and a refusal to accept that it’s probably gone too far now.
Every single year Colm dramatically announces: “Right lads, this is definitely the last one…”
And every single year, a few months later, somebody hears the opening riff of Rockin’ All Over The World, a WhatsApp group wakes up, and suddenly QuoFest is back on again like it never left.
This Friday night is the unofficial official warm-up party ahead of Saturday’s main event. DJ Sprocket himself takes over the Courtyard from 9pm till late with the very best of classic rock, Quo blasting on the massive video wall, singalongs, air guitar solos, questionable dancing and enough denim energy to power Portlaoise for the weekend.
Free entry. No rules. No surrender. And absolutely no chance this is the last one.
