Richard Spaven is one of the defining rhythmic voices of the past two decades, shaping the space where jazz, hip-hop, and club culture collide.
Renowned for his technical fluency and electronic sensibility, he has redefined modern drumming as a tool of expression. 
Collaborations with Loyle Carner, Jordan Rakei, and Alfa Mist reveal his elastic, deliberate, groove-driven touch.
Now signed to Edition Records for Light of Day, Spaven steps fully into the spotlight as a bandleader and composer. In both the studio and on stage, his focus remains on feel and the pocket, where groove informs harmony and texture shapes form.
