Halloween night at Birdland. Expect the unexpected. On the most magical night of the year, something extraordinary is about to happen atNew York Citys legendary Birdland Theater. The music will cast its own spell andonce it does, you wont want to break free. Senri Oe Trio takes the stage for two extraordinary nights four sets of music that defy category, blur boundaries, and just might bewitch you. Senri Oe is one of the most remarkable reinventions in contemporary music. Beginning classical piano at age three and discovering jazz at fifteen, he first rose to extraordinary heights in Japan: a multi-platinum recording artist, Japanese Grammy winner, actor, television anchor, and author a cultural icon whose name defined an era. At forty-seven, at the peak of his fame, Senri made a bold and deeply personal choice. He walked away from stardom, moved to New York City with his beloved dachshund, Peace, and enrolled in The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Under the mentorship of masters including Junior Mance and Aaron Goldberg, he reinvented himself from scratch. It was not a retreat. It was a return to his first love.Since his 2012 jazz debut, Boys Mature Slow, Senri has built a powerful internationalpresence performing at the Atlanta and Detroit Jazz Festivals, headlining SummerFest for two consecutive years, and charting at #24 on JazzWeek in 2023 with his album Class of 88.These Birdland performances celebrate the worldwide release of his latest album,HOMEWORK (Global release: September 4, 2025) conceived in his Brooklyn livingroom and recorded at The Bunker Studio with bassist Matt Clohesy and drummer RossPederson, with mixing by Aaron Nevezie. HOMEWORK fuses digital and acousticworlds into a soundtrack without visuals: brilliant, edgy, and profoundly human.Dont miss your chance to be part of something unforgettable. This Halloween, let themusic haunt you.Senri Oe piano & all compositionsMatt Clohesy bassRoss Pederson drums
