Sirsy was formed in 2000, in a basement studio in upstate NY, by Melanie Krahmer (vocals, drums, keys) and Rich Libutti (guitar, bass). The couple initially met in a disco cover band (yes, really) and became fast friends after bonding over a mutual love of science fiction, coffee, ice cream, squirrels, the Beatles, David Bowie, Aimee Mann and Nina Simone. Rich and Mel started touring and writing music, got married, and lived happily ever after.The Houston Music Blog says Sirsy makes edgy feel-good music thats fun to watch. You must see them live!
