Eric Clapton says, Sonny Landreth is probably the most underestimated musician on the planet, and also probably one of the most advanced.With multiple Grammy nominations and credits that include Clifton Chenier, Jimmy Buffett, John Mayall and John Hiatt, Sonny has been lighting up stages around the world for decades. And we are blessed that he chooses Chickie Wah Wah as the place to do a residency with one of his favorite acts in South Louisiana, his old friends the Iguanas. A fixture of the New Orleans music scene for over three decades, the Iguanas blend Tejano and Conjunto sounds from the Texas/Mexico border region with Blues, Jazz and New Orleans R&B, and the fiery passion of the music of the Caribbean and Mexico. Their songs can bring you to tears. Tonight the Iguanas will start with a full set of their own music, and then Sonny will close the show with a set of his own.
