The Kiln Billys is an established band on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, performing a variety of Rock, Pop, and Blues. If they play it, you have heard it om the radio. This means that their music appeals to a wide range of audiences and venues, including those that require family friendly entertainment.The band began as a loose acoustic arrangement for Pops Southern Comfort Restaurant in Kiln, MS in May of 2016. We didnt even have a name, says Rex, the bands founder. About every 6 or 8 songs we would reintroduce the band with a different name as a way to entertain and interact with the dinner crowd,Eventually, the group grew to four pieces, the current line-up, and had to establish a working name. The restaurant had a favorite menu item, a sandwich known as The Kiln Billy, which the band adopted as their name as a nod to restaurant.Today, you would more likely run into these guys at a private party, wedding, or corporate event than at a club or restaurant. Special Events have become their main venues, primarily because they have a large repertoire that allows them to customize their set to the specific event or venue.In addition, Andrew, Bob, Nick, and Rex had been playing music together even a decade prior to The Kiln Billys in various music projects. Their music is tight. Each brings a high level of musicianship and professionalism to the band. Three of the members share the vocal load, alternating lead and back-up vocals.
