Throwing Muses - one of the most acclaimed US college bands of the 1990s - will perform two New Zealand shows in December.
The band has announced concerts at San Fran, Wellington on 9 December, and Double Whammy in Auckland on 10 December.
Plus1 proudly presents the Throwing Muses tour as part of the New Zealand promoter’s 25th Anniversary series.
These are Throwing Muses' first shows in Aotearoa since 1994.
Formed by Kristin Hersh with high school friends, the band pioneered a new alternative sound, releasing a string of critically celebrated albums and touring the world.
Throwing Muses - featuring Kristin Hersh, David Narcizo and Bernard Georges - recently released new album ‘Moonlight Concessions’ which has been described by Pitchfork Magazine as: “A stunning return to form”.
‘Moonlight Concessions’ goes back to basics, a return for Throwing Muses to their esoteric off-kilter best courtesy of Kristin’s pin-sharp sketches and their suitably abrasive musical arrangements. The album follows ‘Sun Racket’ from 2020, a heady set filled with tough and tender tales spiked with surreal imagery.
Don't miss Throwing Muses performing their career-spanning concerts in Auckland and Wellington in December.
