Tower of Power emerged in the late 60s with a bold, horn driven blend of soul, funk, and R&B, scoring hits like Youre Still a Young Man while becoming one of the most in demand horn sections in popular music. WAR, founded in 1962, created a multicultural fusion of funk, rock, Latin, jazz, and blues, breaking through to the No.1 worldwide with Spill the Wine and later having The World Is a Ghetto as the No.1 on Billboard Pop and R&B charts along with two top 10 singles, the album socially conscious title song and its follow up The Cisco Kid. WAR has over 20 multi platinum, platinum and gold albums and singles. Both bands remain active today, with WAR celebrating the 50th anniversary of The World Is a Ghetto through summer touring and new releases.
