MG Live and I OH YOU are thrilled to announce US singer-songwriter and sonic healer UMI is making her long awaited return to Australia and her first appearance in New Zealand as part of a world tour, celebrating the release of her new album people stories. 

UMI has quickly built a loyal following right around the world by fusing R&B, neo-soul, and folk to craft deeply introspective songs, that radiate calm and connection. 

people stories is inspired by her loved ones, fans, strangers, and her own experiences. The project explores ego, healing, identity, and connection - all filtered through her signature tranquil songwriting. 

UMI said: “We all live very similar lives, same colours, slightly different hues. I find that to be very comforting. While writing this album (people stories), I found myself in every story I was expressing. I was reminded of how colourful the human experience is. For me, learning to accept even the darkest colours of life was deeply healing and possible through relating to others.”
