Michael McDonald shows up in everything like the smooth-bearded guardian angel of soft rock, crooning What a Fool Believes while you question your life choices and SPF levels. Toto?s Africa plays in the background as you pretend your backyard kiddie pool is the Serengeti. Then there?s Robbie Dupree begging you to Steal Away, which sounds romantic until you realize he probably means stealing a weekend off from your corporate job in 1981. Yacht Rock doesn?t rock the boat?it pours it a drink, hands it a lei, and tells it to chill out.
