Emma Rawicz returns to the Vortex with an exciting new quartet, featuring some of the most exciting improvisers that Europe has to offer. The band is decidedly international, with heavyweights from across France, Denmark, and the UK, and draws on long term creative relationships as well as establishing a brand new band sound. This band's UK-debut performance comes after a week-long creative residency in the Devonian countryside, and the band will be showcasing all new material with a strong emphasis on improvisation and joyful freedom within the music. This ensemble, full to the brim of virtuosos on their instruments, and all trailblazing bandleaders in their own right, is characterised by an extremely wide range and depth of musical possibilities, and this is a Vortex debut not to be missed.
