In 1975 Mark Williams made history as the first Kiwi artist to top the Aotearoa charts with ‘Yesterday Was Just The Beginning Of My Life’. 50 years later and he remains one of the most powerful voices in Australasian music.

From chart-topping solo hits to two decades fronting iconic Aussie rock band Dragon, Mark’s career spans platinum records, collaborations and tours with the country’s finest - like Renée Geyer, Tim Finn, Jenny Morris, Ian Moss, The Church, Rockmelons, Eurogliders, Margaret Urlich, Sharon O’Neill, John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes - and sold out shows and festivals across Australia, New Zealand and beyond.

Mark’s voice has become synonymous with Australian culture, featuring on Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom soundtrack performing ‘Time After Time’ with Tara Morice, singing the original Home and Away theme (seriously!), and his platinum hit ‘Show No Mercy’ unexpectedly became an enduring Australian sporting anthem after his 1990 NRL Grand Final performance.

His legacy goes well beyond Australian shores, having shared stages with global legends including Boney M, UB-40, Toto, Simply Red, Suzi Quatro, and Eric Clapton.

Now, Mark Williams returns to The Bridge Hotel for one night only, bringing a full-band celebration of 50 years of soul, groove and rock.

Expect Dragon anthems, Mark’s biggest solo hits, like ‘Yesterday Was Just The Beginning of My Life’, ‘Show No Mercy’, ‘It Doesn’t Matter Anymore’, ‘Sweet Wine’ and ‘Spell Is Broken’ plus favourites from his albums Sweet Trials, ZNZ, Mind Over Matter, and his newly re-released long-lost disco album, Life After Dark.
