Luca Guadagnino has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Artificial, his new film chronicling the tumultuous five-day period in 2023 when Sam Altman was fired and then reinstated as CEO of OpenAI. Watch it below.
Andrew Garfield stars as Altman, while Yura Borisov plays OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever. The cast also includes Ike Barinholtz as Elon Musk, Monica Barbaro, Cooper Hoffman, Mark Rylance, and Jason Schwartzman, among others. Simon Rich penned the screenplay, while Damon Albarn is composing the score.
The film was originally set to be released by Prime Video before the streamer got cold feet (reportedly due to its darker than expected tone) and dumped it. Neon subsequently acquired its distribution rights and dated its release for Christmas Day.
