A new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday was revealed at Disney’s D23 fan event on Friday, August 15th, revealing an extended look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and his path of destruction.
“Victor was always the smartest guy in every room. He used to be different,” says Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm/Invisible Woman ominously to open the clip. “He used to be kind. He used to be caring. And then, everything he loved was taken from him. I knew he was lost, but I did not realize that he was broken.”
The camera pans over to show her addressing Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), Black Panther (Letitia Wright), and others. Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic is then shown asking Victor whether he was responsible for what appears to be a worldwide apocalypse.
“All of you have lived stolen lives,” Doom responds, as we get glimpses of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man with the Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch, Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), Chris Evans’ Captain America with a baby, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Cyclops (James Marsden), and more. “Now you must give them back.”

The trailer closes with Thor futilely attempting to take on Doom mano a mano. Victor flicks him away before saying, “Hell answers to me. For I am Doom.”
A returning Joe and Anthony Russo directed the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will serve as a reset before next year’s Avengers: Secret Wars. The fully announced cast for Avengers: Doomsday further brings together Fox’s X-Men movies with the MCU.
The Doomsday cast also includes Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Alan Cumming, and Rebecca Romijn, many of whom appeared in the first full trailer.
We’ll find out exactly how they will assemble when Avengers: Doomsday premieres in theaters on December 18th.
