Netflix has released a new trailer for its upcoming investigative docuseries, Hunting Gary Glitter, which digs into the disgraced glam rocker’s history of child sexual abuse. Watch it below.

Directed by Sebastian Smith (Locked Up Abroad, The Devil on Trial), the three-part documentary follows the reporters and police investigators who played a major role in publicizing Glitter’s sex crimes. The series details how the musician used his popularity to abuse multiple girls.

Also included in Hunting Gary Glitter are first-person interviews detailing his early convictions and years of moving from country to country — including Vietnam, Cuba, and Cambodia — to avoid prosecution and prison.

“A string of dogged journalists chases fugitive pop star Gary Glitter across the globe — from Cuba to Cambodia to Vietnam — determined to expose the child sexual abuse he concealed behind decades of chart-topping fame,” reads the official logline. “This documentary follows their pursuit alongside the survivors who speak out, charting Glitter’s 1997 conviction, through to his years on the run, and eventual incarceration.”

Glitter was convicted in 1999 for possession of child pornography after his arrest two years earlier and then in 2006 for sexually abusing two underage girls in Vietnam. In 2015, he was found guilty of sexually abusing three underage girls in the UK and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The singer was briefly released in February 2023 after serving half of his 16-year sentence, but returned to prison the next month after violating his probation.

Hunting Gary Glitter arrives October 14th on Netflix.
