BEAT, the all-star supergroup that celebrates the music of King Crimson, have announced a Fall 2026 North American tour. This time around, Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, Missing Persons) replaces Danny Carey on drums due to the latter’s commitments to Tool.
The rest of BEAT is still made up of onetime King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin, along with guitar virtuoso Steve Vai. The 40-date tour kicks off October 9th in Santa Cruz, California, passing through Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and other cities, before wrapping up in Riverside, California on December 3rd.
A pre-sale is already under way using the code BEATTOUR via Ticketmaster, with a general on-sale starting Friday, August 7th, at 10 a.m. local time.
Of the change behind the drum kit, Vai said, “Terry is one of the truly legendary drummers of our time, whose remarkable career and unique musical voice make him the perfect artist to join us for this tour. He brings his own extraordinary artistry to BEAT, and that’s something worth celebrating.”
Belew added, “Our deepest appreciation goes to our brother Danny Carey — a true BEAT-Poet. His extraordinary musicianship, generosity, humor, and explosive creativity helped establish BEAT as something far beyond a tribute. He helped create its identity. While Tool commitments keep him from joining us this fall, he remains an essential part of our family.”
Tool currently have no tour dates scheduled for the remainder of 2026, but perhaps they’re hitting the studio for the follow-up to 2019’s Fear Inoculum.
The BEAT tour will also see the quartet, originally formed to perform material from the ’80s incarnation of King Crimson, adding material from the legendary band’s ’90s output.
