Chris Stapleton has joined the ranks of Jack White, Orville Peck, Vin Diesel, and more in covering Dolly Parton following her recent passing. During the country star’s show at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York, on Wednesday, August 26th, he performed a stirring cover of “I Will Always Love You” as the crowd swayed and sang along.
Stapleton and Parton have a direct connection, collaborating on a cover of Bob Seger’s “Night Moves” for Parton’s 2023 album, Rockstar. According to KBLB-FM, Parton called the song “one of my favorite things I did in this rock album.”
Next up, Stapleton will resume his “All-American Road Show” tour on Friday, August 28th, at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey.
