Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Bay Are Stuttering Messes in First Cunk on Cinema Trailer: Watch

Diane Morgan’s not just a fun member of the VisionQuest supporting cast — since 2013, she’s been terrorizing unsuspecting interview subjects as Philomena Cunk, a confidently ignorant TV personality who has previously taken on subjects like Shakespeare, Christmas, Britain, and life itself. The first trailer for the Netflix limited series Cunk on Cinema reveals that Philomena has not changed, her blunt and ridiculous questions leaving Hollywood fame-os like Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Bay completely incoherent.

According to the official description:

Diane Morgan returns as Philomena Cunk in a new series from Charlie Brooker. Billed as Cunk’s most glamorous outing yet, she charts the history of cinema, from the invention of the camera and the New Wave filmmakers of the 1960s right up to the entrance of CGI and what the future of AI holds. Cunk will attempt to demystify it all while sitting in lumpy seats with stale popcorn, asking herself where did cinema come from? And why? What does it want? And why can’t it tell us?

In addition to Cumberbatch and Bay, other victims filmmaking experts featured in the series include composer Daniel Pemberton, Die Hard screenwriter Steven E. de Souza, and a wide range of academics and experts. The six-episode series was directed by Al Campbell.

Cunk on Cinema premieres November 15th on Netflix. Check out the first trailer below, and also explore Cunk’s work as an author on Amazon.
