Dexter and the Moonrocks stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to make their late-night TV debut with “Freakin’ Out,” their breakout single.
The Texas quartet have been on the rise this year, and given their moody rendition of “Freakin’ Out” on Fallon, it’s easy to see why. The song is definitely catchy, and vocalist James Tuffs’ ability to sound both fraught and detached like the grunge heroes of yore is impressive. The band provides a faithful, passionate performance of the song, really coming alive in the back half (pay attention to drummer Ryan Fox, who is absolutely seizing his moment behind the kit).
