Donald Trump says he’s not mad about the half a dozen artists who’ve pulled out of the Great American State Fair, explaining, “I never heard of any of them.”

Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Morris Day and the Time, Young MC, Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli, and The Commodores have all pulled out of the event, which is sometimes called the Freedom 250 concert, and sometimes called alleged promoter fraud. C+C Music Factory remain on the bill, despite internal conflicts, as well as Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida.

“I never even heard of these people,” Trump told Pod Force One in a new interview. “I never heard of any of them. They’re boring. I don’t even want ’em.” (It’s worth noting that Bret Michaels won Celebrity Apprentice 3 in 2009).

He also seemingly announced a change to the previous plan, which had seen Trump assume the role of headliner. “When I heard a couple of them canceled out, I said, ‘Cancel the whole thing, we’re gonna do a rally,’ And nobody’s ever gotten crowds like I get at a rally.”

“A couple of them said, ‘We don’t want anything that’s partisan,'” he continued after a long aside on rally size. “I said, ‘That’s okay. Go someplace else.'”
