Ed Harris has some complaints about the show Dutton Ranch, the Paramount+ series executive produced by Taylor Sheridan. Specifically, that he’s feeling “underused and inconsequential,” as he told Variety during a red carpet interview. “Prior to signing on for it, I was talked to quite a bit about what the season was, and what my character was going to do — and that I was one of the four main characters,” Harris said. “And that wasn’t really the case.”
One of his complaints included the fact that a scene he filmed for the show’s first season, in which his character sang in a bar, was cut from the episode. “I walk up to the mic, and they cut it. They cut the song out. I’m going, ‘Fuck you, people.’”
While Harris is currently signed up for two seasons of Dutton Ranch, he doesn’t sound particularly happy about it — cutting his song, he said, felt like “enough reason to say I’m voiding my contract.” Maybe Harris also figured out that this show wasn’t going to earn him an Emmy nomination, considering Sheridan’s track record.
