Foo Fighters launched their North American “Take Cover” summer tour at Rogers Stadium in Toronto on Tuesday evening, August 4th, with support from Queens of the Stone Age and Mannequin Pussy.
Dave Grohl and company treated fans to a 26-song set filled with their biggest hits, including opening number “All My Life,” as well as “The Pretender,” “Times Like These,” “My Hero,” “Monkey Wrench,” and main-set closer “Best of You.”
Other highlights were “No Son of Mine” with a snippet of Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades,” plus “Under You” dedicated to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins’ son Shane on his 20th birthday, and “Aurora” in tribute to Taylor, who passed away in 2022. The night ended with an encore of ‘The Teacher,” dedicated to Grohl’s late mom Virginia, and “Everlong,” complete with fireworks.
Overall, 1999’s There Is Nothing Left to Lose got the most love with four songs, while The Colour and the Shape (1997), Wasting Light (2011), and Concrete and Gold (2017) were well represented with three songs each.
Oddly, the Foos’ played only one song (“Caught in the Echo”) from their most recent album, 2026’s Your Favorite Toy.
Meanwhile, Queens of the Stone Age delivered an 11-song performance spread out among five of their albums. The set ended with three consecutive songs from their 2002 breakout album Songs for the Deaf: “Go With the Flow,” “No One Knows,” and “A Song for the Dead.”
Philadelphia indie-punkers Mannequin Pussy got the evening started with a five-song set, all from their 2024 album I Got Heaven.
