Justice have revealed “Pusher,” a new collaboration with Gesaffelstein that will appear on their original score for Grand Theft Auto VI. Additionally, they’ve confirmed that that the score will receive a standalone physical release on December 11th via Because Music, Ed Banger Records, and Rockstar Games (pre-order here).
With a runtime around seven minutes, “Pusher” is a sprawling bloghouse cut from the trio of French producers. A throttling bass guides the first half, with siren-like synths continuously rising and falling and ramping up the tension. Around midway through, the track dissolves and reforms with a more disco-oriented palette; orchestra hits and an ascending string line retain the tension mined in the first half, while the bass remains incessant and groovy. Earlier this month, Justice were confirmed by Rockstar Games to be the official composers of Grand Theft Auto VI, which is set to be released on November 19th. “Flower in a Hurricane,” Justice’s collaboration with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, was released as the first preview of their score and serves as the game’s official theme song.
The Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score will feature 30 tracks alongside a selection of bonus cuts, totaling three hours of original music. It will be available digitally, as well as in 2xCD and 3xLP formats. Pre-orders are ongoing here.
