King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard look to be going techno on their just-completed next album.
The psych rock band posted on Instagram “Album done” April 24th with a video clip that featured a high-intensity techno tune. The video showed members of the band sitting in front of wired-up synths, presumably triggering the song, and possibly foreshadowing the techno tint of the upcoming release. The newest album will be King Gizzard’s 28th studio album.

The release follows 2025’s Phantom Island, which leans heavily on orchestral arrangements to stand out in their catalogue. The band’s latest material has come out via their own p(doom) Records, and nothing suggests that won’t be the case for their new album. In August, King Gizzard will stage their Field of Vision festival in Buena Vista, Colorado in August, and play a three-day residency at Forest Hills Stadium in New York City Get, which includes a “rave show.” Get tickets here.
