Noname has linked up with Virginia rapper DRAM for a narrative new single, “Squatter,” the second preview from her upcoming mixtape, Cartoon Radio. Stream it below.
“Squatter” features storytelling raps from Noname, who remembers the time an unwelcome guest moved into her house while she was last on tour, forcing her to recruit a group of friends to remove them. Meanwhile, DRAM — best known for his 2016 hit “Broccoli” — provides the hook, singing, “Protecting me and mine only thing that I’m on.”
“They shouldn’t be in my crib, I live all alone,” Noname recalls thinking, over a bouncy beat. “The homies came through/ Kicked the bird out the bath, and they cleaned, too/ Changed the locks on the door/ That’s what friends do.”
Cartoon Radio also features the 2025 single “Hundred Acres,” but has yet to receive an official release date. It follows 2023’s Sundial, which Consequence named one of the best rap albums released that year.
Noname is also set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her acclaimed debut mixtape, Telefone, with a North American tour beginning later this month.
