The custom popcorn bucket has become a very 2020s movie-going tradition, some buckets more suggestive than others. But the custom bucket created for The Odyssey is a very pure, unfuckable creation. Instead, it pays tribute to the technology behind the epic Christopher Nolan adaptation of Greek mythology by celebrating the IMAX cameras that filmed it.
According to the official release courtesy of IMAX, the limited-edition IMAX Film Camera Popcorn Bucket is “inspired by the legendary IMAX 15/65mm Camera, the very camera Christopher Nolan has called ‘the Gold Standard’ and used on films such as The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Oppenheimer, and The Odyssey.” It also “features a viewfinder that lights up to reveal a scene from Christopher Nolan’s latest epic, The Odyssey, in IMAX’s exclusive 1.43:1 Expanded Aspect Ratio.”
