After the credits rolled on SNL’s season 51 finale, Paul McCartney stuck around on the Studio 8H soundstage to treat the cast and audience to a pair of bonus performances. With the backing of Chad Smith on drums, Ingrid Michaelson on vocals, and Will Ferrell on cowbell (natch), Macca ran through The Beatles’ “Help!” and “Drive My Car.”
Earlier in the episode, McCartney performed “Days We Left Behind” from his upcoming album The Boys of Dungeon Lane, and the Wings’ classic “Band on the Run.” He also played his McCartney II solo track “Coming Up” as the SNL credits scrolled.
