Sony has announced sweeping price hikes across its PlayStation consoles starting April 2nd, with the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition each increasing by $100, while the PlayStation 5 Pro will cost $150 more. Sony is also raising the price of the PlayStation Portal by $50.

– PS5: $549 → $649
– PS5 Digital: $499 → $599
– PS5 Pro: $749 → $899
– Portal: $199 → $249
Sony cited “continued pressures in the global economic landscape” as the reason for today’s price hike, the second such increase in the last year.
The good news is the price increase does not take effect into April 2nd, and Amazon is still offering the consoles at the previous price point. What’s more, Prime Subscribers can enjoy free shipping.
