Taylor Swift may have given fans a treat with her surprise performance of “I Knew It, I Knew You,” and a duet of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” with Randy Newman at the Toy Story 5 premiere, but she may have left with the greatest gift: a VHS copy of Toy Story signed by cast members Tom Hanks and Tim Allen.
The pop star carried her personal Toy Story VHS around the red carpet, clutched in her blue-sky-and-clouds manicured hands. More than an accessory, it was a keepsake she asked Hanks (the voice of Woody), Allen (Buzzlighter), and other cast members to autograph. Allen signed it with the catchphrase, “To infinity and beyond!” and Hanks joked about the encounter to USA Today: “I did not get a selfie [with Swift], but I did sign her original VHS of the first Toy Story. I told her she should have brought in the VHS machine so that we could have signed it, as that could go into the Smithsonian Institute as well.”
