The Black Crowes had a heated exchange with an audience after singer Chris Robinson reportedly derided fans for chanting “U.S.A.”
On Sunday, May 31st, fans at the Tampa stop of the band’s “Southern Hospitality Tour” started the chant after an image of The Black Crowes’ logo dressed as Uncle Sam was displayed on a stage backdrop around the time the band played “She Talks to Angels,” according to reporting by TMZ.

“Thanks for the geography lesson,” Robinson is reported to have said. “I don’t know what you have to be so proud of.”
Attendees booed the band after Robinson’s remarks, with some walking out.
“Some of us have real faith,” Robinson is heard saying in a video. “And for those of you fucking booing us, some of us are not afraid, and we most assuredly are not fucking ignorant.”
The Black Crowes are on tour through August. They released their latest album, A Pound of Feathers, on March 13th.
