Turnstile will perform a free concert on the National Mall in Washington, DC, on Saturday, October 24th, to raise funds for humanitarian relief efforts in Palestine, Sudan, and Lebanon.
While the concert is free to attend, fans are encouraged to donate through LaunchGood, with organizers aiming to raise $100,000.
The show is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. ET near the Washington Monument. Fans can RSVP here to attend.
Turnstile just made their SNL debut, becoming the first hardcore to play the late-night show in 45 years. Their benefit show on the National Mall arrives amid the the final stretch of the “NEVER ENOUGH TOUR PT. 2,” which still includes upcoming shows in Ventura, Las Vegas, Santa Ana, as well as festival slots at ACL Weekend 2 and Camp Flog Gnaw. There is actually a rich history of punk and hardcore bands playing shows on the National Mall, with Fugazi having headlined a gig back in 1995 to protest city budget cuts. Recently, the Queer event-planning operation Den of Thieves and DIYNot radio host Caroline Liaupsin staged a punk show to protest the state of D.C. politics, including the presence of ICE agents and anti-transgender legislation.
