STOMPIN’ DAVE is considered one of the most exciting, energetic, and entertaining Blues musicians on the current live music scene. Nominated for a UK Blues Award in 2024, Dave is a former member of UK Blues Band of the Year, The Producers. Joining Dave on drums is LUCY PIPER who The Guardian described as ‘one of the UK's leading blues drummers.’ Lucy is the daughter of the late blues guitarist Julian Piper, widely acknowledged as one of the UK’s leading authorities on Blues music. Julian played guitar on Lazy Lester's 1987 album Rides Again which won a Blues Music Award - universally recognised as the highest award in blues music.
Lucy and Dave have been performing regularly together since 2022. 2024 performances included Gloucester Blues Festival and Congleton Jazz & Blues Festival. In 2025 the duo performed at York Blues Festival, Upton Blues Festival and The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival.
‘In other parts of the world they have cyclones, tornados, and hurricanes, in the UK we have Stompin’ Dave. Dave is a phenomenal artist…A great guitar player and vocalist and accomplished songwriter…he is also an outstanding dancer’ - Blues In The South.
‘Here are two fabulous musicians delivering a record that deserves huge recognition, a modern blues album rooted nicely indeed in the traditions of the past.’ - Blues In Britain.
‘Let’s face it, in adding the quality of his original material the man is a downright genius…. The sound is authentic, with a richness that's as good as any of the best blues albums.’ - Blues In Britain.
