In EXTRA, three of contemporary music’s most fearless improvisers collide in a sonic high-speed chase that redefines what a jazz trio can be. Far from revisiting standards or offering tidy interplay, the group constructs an explosive, multilayered language where glitchy electronics, hardcore grooves, and unruly textures crash into one another—often within a single phrase.
The band fuses Evans’ sculptural trumpet vocabularies with Eldh’s hyperactive bass playing and Jim Black’s volatile rhythmic outbursts.
