Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004)

Cyborg detective Batou is assigned to investigate a string of murders involving doll-like androids. What appears to be a routine case soon leads somewhere stranger. Premiering at Cannes, Mamoru Oshiis follow-up expands the world of Ghost in the Shell and pushes even further into philosophical science fiction. Fans of Patlabor would be familiar with Oshiis favorable franchise sequels.
