Gvllow is a Riverside, California–born solo artist, multi-instrumentalist, DJ, and producer known for blending elements of punk rock, gothic rock, post-punk, darkwave, hip-hop, and trap into a distinctive, genre-defying sound. Growing up in the Southern California punk scene, he began playing drums at age nine and regularly attended shows at venues like The Showcase Theatre in Corona, watching bands such as The Adicts, TSOL, Dr Know, and Subhumans — influences that would later shape his musical identity. In 2015, Gvllow became involved in the underground rap world, DJing for artists such as Ghostemane and Lil Peep as part of the collective Schemaposse, and later performing as a touring DJ with City Morgue.
His solo career took off with the release of his debut album Waste Away in 2018, followed by his self-titled album Gvllow in 2020, featuring guest appearances from Travis Barker, Brennan Savage, and Jack Grisham of TSOL, and spawning singles like “Fear,” “Johnny Cash,” and the darkwave-inspired “Last Dance.”Gvllow’s music has continued to evolve, exploring post-punk and darkwave textures with his acclaimed Spiritwalker EP (2021) and a series of subsequent singles including “Die By Your Hand,” “Falling Down,” “Not Sorry,” “It’s So Cold,” and the Suffer EP. His work on these releases reflects themes of heartbreak, trauma, self-reflection, mortality, romance, loss, and personal growth — delivered through moody atmospheres, haunting vocals, and a fusion of influences that range from 80s goth and new wave to Southern California’s punk roots.
Visually and sonically, Gvllow draws from punk, horror, and goth aesthetics, mixing them with modern electronic and hip-hop elements to create a sound that is fresh, diverse, and uniquely his own. Over the course of his career, he has amassed millions of streams across platforms and significant viewership on YouTube, marking him as a compelling figure in the contemporary alternative music landscape.
