Boisdale of Canary Wharf presents an intimate tribute to John Lennon, led by acclaimed performer Tyson Kelly, whose work has focused on Lennon’s music and persona for over 15 years. This live show explores both the songwriting and character behind one of the most influential figures in modern music.
Kelly is known for his portrayal of Lennon in Broadway’s Let It Be and for his time as frontman of The Bootleg Beatles, where he spent seven years performing the Beatles catalogue internationally. His approach centres on Lennon’s vocal phrasing, musical instincts and understated stage presence, supported here by a five-piece live band.
The programme features key songs from Lennon’s solo career including "Imagine", "Jealous Guy", "Working Class Hero" and "Woman", alongside material from his earlier years with The Beatles, tracing the shift from early pop songwriting to more personal and reflective work.
John Lennon’s contribution to music spans both his partnership with Paul McCartney, one of the most successful songwriting collaborations in history, and a solo career that brought a more direct and introspective voice to popular music. This performance draws on both, offering a considered look at his catalogue and artistic legacy.
