Inspiral Carpets play Tunnels, Aberdeen on Sunday 23 August.

Inspiral Carpets were a key part of the late 1980s and early 1990s Manchester indie scene, blending psychedelic keyboards with driving guitar rock. They created a distinctive sound marked by Farfisa organ riffs and concise songwriting.

Their albums and singles, including "This Is How It Feels", "Saturn 5", and "She Comes in the Fall", captured working-class life and youthful restlessness. As part of the Madchester movement, they helped shape the identity of British indie music, influencing later bands and proving regional scenes could achieve national and lasting cultural impact across generations of listeners and musicians alike today.
