Led by Marta Gornitzka on vocals, the project is a tribute to the legendary vocalist Sheila Jordan, celebrating her unique improvisational and storytelling approach to jazz. The performance is intimate and focused on musical conversation, featuring Tom Ridout on saxophones, Guy Dempsey on bass and Liam Dunachie on piano. The group will present a wide variety of Sheila’s repertoire - from the American songwriters to British folk.
Marta Gornitzka is an international acclaimed vocalist and band leader based in London. Her music blends folk, rock, and blues with the jazz tradition, driven by a collaborative and imaginative approach to improvisation. Marta has also been a part of the first Whirlpool series led by the Vortex Jazz Club.
