At a party in their hometown, Charlie is confronted by fragmented memories and a growing mystery: who is Max, and why have they been erased? As the night unfolds, gaps in Charlie's past begin to surface, forcing them to question not only what they remember but who they are without it. Inspired by lived experiences, Imprints explores underrepresented aspects of memory loss, queer identity, and the fragile, often unreliable process of piecing together the past. What happens when memory fails, and identity must be rebuilt from fragments? Blending Lecoq techniques with live-cinema, puppetry, and dreamlike soundscapes, The Palimpsest Project reconstructs memories in real time. Using onstage cameras and miniature worlds, performers capture and manipulate live footage, inviting the audience into the act of remembering itself, where perspective shifts and truth remains uncertain. The result is a haunting coming-of-age mystery that blurs the line between performer and filmmaker, past and present, reality and reconstruction. As Charlie attempts to rediscover Max, they are forced to confront the emotional cost of remembering, and the possibility that some things may be better left unknown. Both deeply personal and strikingly universal, Imprints is a meditation on nostalgia, identity, and the delicate threads that shape who we are.
