New York punk and indie rock acts Prince Daddy & the Hyena and Macseal will make their Australian debut this July, joining forces for an exciting eight-date co-headlining tour.

The tour arrives hot on the heels of Prince Daddy & the Hyena's highly anticipated fourth LP announcement, Hotwire Trip Switch, out Friday 17 April via Counter Intuitive Records and Civilians. The record also marks the band’s return to Counter Intuitive, the label responsible for some of alternative music's most beloved releases. Since forming out of Albany's DIY scene, Prince Daddy have built a career out of reaching their breaking point. On Hotwire Trip Switch, they recalibrate and reconnect with their roots while sounding more focused than ever. The album continues the band’s evolution towards more refined, melodic, and focused songwriting, with plenty of the rough and raw punk elements that built the band up in the first place, reuniting them with producer Joe Reinhardt (Joyce Manor, Modern Baseball). The band channels their proprietary blend of chaos into their most addictive collection yet.

Joining them are Long Island indie rockers Macseal, who have built a reputation for making expertly crafted indie rock that bridges the gap between emo and power-pop, resulting in a coffee-fueled 2000s coming-of-age sound that energises audiences, encouraging them to crowd surf and nod along. On Permanent Repeat, Macseal pairs the sound of early 2000s pop rock with more modern twists and turns, condensing big themes such as longing, existential dread, and falling in love into moments that can be played on a loop. Playing songs from across their discography, Macseal’s Audiotree Live performance illustrates the evolution of their sound, combining layered math-rock elements with emo vulnerability to create accessible, feel-good tracks.
