The return of The Cockpit's Legendary 2000's Alt Indie Night...
Let original Session DJ Dan Lomax take you back in time for one night, to your favourite club of the 2000s, for an evening of indie-fuelled excess, trashy glamour, the tightest jeans and the weirdest hair. You will look good on the dance floor.
The Session launched at The Cockpit in the autumn of 2002 and soon became the go-to grounds for the indie-sleaze scene. The Strokes’ first album had dropped and there was a buzz in the air – you knew something amazing was happening, and it was happening now! The Session was the perfect place for the new indie generation to see and be seen to the soundtrack of the songs of the moment. Within weeks, the night was selling out every Friday, with huge queues snaking down Swinegate, a sight that would continue for years to come. After the American explosion of bands, the British new new wave of The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party and the like arrived to help keep the party going for more than a decade.
Expect to hear The Strokes / The White Stripes / LCD Soundsystem / The Libertines / MGMT / Bloc Party / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Franz Ferdinand / Arctic Monkeys/ Interpol / Hot Chip / The Cribs and much, much more...
